Jazz @ the Centre - Update

Hi Everyone,

This is a bit of a bad news / good news email.

Regrettably there won't be a Jazz at the Centre this season. Nothing bad has happened it's just a combination of things happening in life that has lead to busy bands and reduced available dates. So it's a watch this space for the future and if things change then you will be the first to know.

The good news however is that Whirligig will be playing at the Travellers Inn, Birdwell (S70 5XF) on a monthly basis. The dates currently in the diary are 23 October 26 and 20 November 26. We'd love to see some familiar faces up there.

You can keep track on other gig dates through "www.washingtonwhirligig.band" and "www.roaringtwenties.band". Don't forget that there is also the Washington Whirligig monthly residency at the Rose and Crown Brampton Chesterfield 4pm start on the second Sunday of the month (the next one is tomorrow!). Also, the Jazz Preservation Society (run by Suzanne and Simon James) every Monday at the Norfolk Arms, Ringinglow 8pm start. And last but not least the Dearne Big Band winter season starts at the Holiday Inn Dodworth on 18 October at 6:30pm.

On a personal note can I thank you all for your continued support and enthusiasm over the last decade of the various versions of Jazz @ the Centre. Live music doesn't happen without an audience so thank you again.

Whirligig Jazz Hi Everyone, Hope you are all keeping well. Just a quick line to let you know that one of our regular Jazz at the Centre Bands is putting on an evening of toe tapping jazz. Whirligig Jazz will be playing this Friday the 10th July 2026 at the Travellers Inn, 124 Sheffield Road, Birdwell, Barnsley, S70 5XF starting at 8:30pm. Entry is free. The Roaring Twenties Jazz Band Hi Everyone, Just a short notice and quick line to let you know that one of our regular Jazz at the Centre Bands is putting on an evening of toe tapping jazz.
