Jazz @ the Centre - Oct Update No 2

Hi Everyone,

Unfortunately this is another "regrettably" email.

Thank you to all of you who came out to see Whirligig at the Travellers on Friday evening in what were, lets be honest, foul weather conditions! You were the hardy and dedicated ones, the locals on the other hand did not show up. As a result the pub do not think it's a viable evening for them going forward. I know some of you were planning to go early next month and have some food so I wanted to let you know as soon as possible that it's been cancelled. But as they say nothing ventured nothing gained but unfortunately it didn't work out this time.

Just a reminder for you of "What's On" reasonably locally.

Washington Whirligig - Rose & Crown at Brampton Chesterfield - 2nd Sunday of the month, 4pm start, free entry.

The Roaring Twenties - Next gig is at Dringhouses Jazz Club, York, YO24 1HW on Thursday 29 Oct 26. Its a 1pm start and £7 on the door. This is always a busy club so worth popping along for a lovely atmosphere.

The Jazz Preservation Society - The band plays every Monday at the Norfolk Arms, Ringinglow, S11 7TS. It organised and run by Suzanne & Simon James and is an 8pm start and £7.50 on the door.

Dearne Big Band and singers- Their winter season has started at the Holiday Inn, Dodworth, S75 3JT. The next concert is on 29th November, it's a 6:30pm start and is £7.50 on the door. It's titled Planes, Trains and Automobiles, a high energy big band journey through the golden age of travel.

On a personal note can I again thank you all for your continued support of live jazz in it's various forms and also for the support that you show for those of us out and about playing live music.
